The approach in TACTICS is based on the following principles:

  1. Use of animal models with excellent face, construct and predictive validity, develop new animals models of compulsivity and match these to human data.
  2. Study compulsivity as a cross-disorder trait in relation to normal and abnormal functioning of the fronto-striatal circuits.
  3. Use of Bayesian machine learning as an integrative statistical tool.
  4. Pilot test new medication in animals and humans to improve functioning of the fronto-striatal circuits
